About

Hi, I'm Karen.
I founded my private tax practice in 2002. Since then, I've helped countless individuals, couples, families, sole proprietors, and small nonprofits (e.g., PTAs) to prepare accurate, timely tax returns—with personalized, attentive service.

After I graduated from St. Mary’s College, I started my career with the IRS as a Revenue Agent, auditing small businesses. A few years into my career at the IRS, I started a family and decided to make the leap to establish my own small practice. I became an Enrolled Agent in 2002 and began preparing tax returns from my home office. As my kids grew, so did my business. In 2015, I moved my operations into a dedicated office space to better serve my clients. I now have three staff members that work with me during tax season.
We specialize in working with ordinary people who have found they either need to upgrade from DIY tax software or simply want to use their time doing other things.

While I take pride in making sure my clients’ tax returns are done right and on time, my favorite part of the work is building relationships. I enjoy getting to know the people behind the paperwork. I want my clients to feel supported not just during tax season, but year-round. Whether it’s connecting them with a trusted financial planner, reviewing their insurance coverage, or making sure they have a solid estate plan in place, I see my role as part of their larger financial team.

I train my entire team on this philosophy, and my clients love knowing that I'm not the only one "in the office" who can help them, if they need it.

If you’re looking for a tax preparer who’s not only detail-oriented but also genuinely invested in your financial well-being, I’d love to work with you.
What is an Enrolled Agent (EA)?
I’m glad you asked! As an EA, I hold the highest credential the IRS awards. I’m federally licensed to represent taxpayers before the IRS—just like a CPA or attorney—and unlike CPAs, my credential is valid in all 50 states.
